Barney Cake Supplies
It’s Party Time and everyone knows that the main attraction for a kid’s party is the cake (or cupcakes). When you are putting your Barney the Dinosaur themed party together your cake will take the center stage. So how do you decorate a Barney cake? Does it have to be home made? Can I decorate store bought cupcakes? The answers are easier then you think.
First decide if you are baking the cake or if delegating the baking of this cake to your local bakery or supermarket would free you up for more important tasks.
If you are baking… Think not only about you’re child’s flavor preferences but of your choice of Characters for this cake. Barney is purple so what about a purple cake? Add food color to the cake batter (of a white or yellow) and you’ve got Barney all the way through the cake. Alternately, adding purple and green sprinkles to the cake batter will give you a nice flecked cake carrying out the Barney theme. Making a chocolate cake, consider making a swirled cake (or marbled) by making 1 chocolate cake recipe (or box mix) and one white/yellow cake that can be colored purple or have sprinkles added to it. Pour the chocolate cake into the cake pan, drop dollops of the second cake on top, then swirl gently with a knife to streak the cake.
If you’ve decided to delegate out this job, ask the bakery about making a purple cake or a sprinkled cake. You will also need to decide if the bakery is doing a basic decorating on the cake (just plain frosting) or if they are going to add Barney cake toppers, air bushing, or edible art to the cake, or picks to the cupcakes.
